We build Model 750 vertical grinding machines specifically to grind cylindrical parts. This proven vertical grinder design has been successful in the bearing, aerospace, and power generation industries. The 750 ID/OD cylindrical grinder is a highly rigid platform configured to machine a part with its axis vertical, which eliminates the need for a steadyrest or tailstock, enhancing accuracy and repeatability. The machine is available with up to six axes of motion and various options, including hard turning to improve productivity. An optional tool changer enhances the flexibility and part features by changing out wheels, tools, and coolant nozzles for grinding specific part features.

Tool and nozzle changerA tool changer is the most requested option. Storing multiple tools allows for many operations to be handled with a single clamping. Tool changers have been supplied with 40+ positions and can change the grinding wheel, Roll dresser, Turning tool, Milling tool, Drilling tool and coolant nozzle for each cycle.
B-axis (spindle swivel)Multiple spindles and/or turning/gauging can be mounted to the B-Axis for performing several operations without removing the part from the machine.
C-axis contouring rotary work tableMultiple applications demand a high accuracy rotary table to contour a component during the grind. Accuracies from 5 arc minutes to 1 arc second are available.
High speed C-axis (rotary table)Faster rotary tables can be quoted for specific applications.
Disk dresserThis option allows for dressing the wheel straight and interpolating a form into the grinding wheel.
Roll form dresserA formed dressing roll allows for the final part form to be dressed into the wheel allowing shorter cycle times.
CNC radius dresser for bearing grindingThis special dresser can be utilized to dress a true radius on the wheel to transfer forms such as a bearing race.
CDCF dresserThis is a wheel head mounted dresser to Continually Dress a grinding wheel during a Creep Feed grind.This dresser can be mounted on multiple spindle types and can also allow for the roll to be changed in a tool changer.
Magnetic chuckA magnetic chuck can be supplied based on the application.
Hydrostatic table bearingHydrostatic tables help meet the most extreme tolerances or surface finishes for demanding applications.
ID shoe for bearing grindingA special fixture allowing bearings to be centered on rotary tables for accurate placement for grinding of the bearing race.
Wireless part probeUsed in conjunction with a tool changer, this allows for storing the part probe away from the grind zone.
Tool probeChecks the grinding wheel prior to the actual grind process to ensure accuracy.
Laser part measuringMultiple laser types can be used to measure the part - either point measuring, 2D or 3D laser system can be used to measure most types of forms in parts. One potential application is measuring blade tips in a Stator Case.
TurningMost rotary Campbell Grinders have the strength and ability to turn a part prior to grinding. Used in conjunction with a rotary axis, the ability to thread is also an option.
Steady rest / Live CenterCertain applications call for either a steady rest or a live center to be provided. An example would be Aircraft Landing Gears.
Automatic shoesUsed for rotary grinding to center a part for accurate placement and high production.
Spindle indexerA manual spindle indexer can be offered as an option.
Chiller with spindle loopThe chiller system is used for temperature control of the axis and spindle and is a closed loop system to prevent contamination. The chiller allows for longer machine lifetime and less downtime.
Standard gap eliminatorA standard Gap Eliminator can be supplied. This option is primarily used for crash detection.
Acoustic gap eliminatorThis option is used for detecting the moment when a part is in contact with the wheel and causes the machine to go into a feed mode. This option is good for reducing production time and crash elimination or tracking.
Air knifeAn option that can be used prior to gauging to prevent coolant or contaminants from influencing the measuring capabilities of the machine.
Multiple grinding spindles on the same headWhen used with the B-Axis option, multiple spindles can be supplied to grind many different features onto a component.
Wheel load assistA wheel load assist can be supplied when a tool changer is not needed. This option is used for a machine that is dedicated to one spindle and usually a single wheel.
Deburing spindleIn many applications, a deburring tool is needed after the machining of the component. This can be a dedicated spindle or an option located in the tool changer.
Numerous spindle power & RPM combinationsSpindle options are as varied as the parts that are ground on Campbell Grinders. Options vary from 5HP spindles to over 100HP. Speeds can range from 2000rpm to over 240,000rpm. Campbell can specify a unique spindle for your application.
Mist collectorA mist-free zone is required in many applications. Our mist collectors are sized specifically for the enclosure of each machine.
Dust collectorWhen coolant is not an option, dust collectors allows for a clean environment.
Fire suppression system (for oil coolant)Certain applications require machining in oil. The spark risk is controlled through a fire suppression system. This includes a rapid deployment of the system once heat is detected and blast doors to force the remaining heat upwards and away from the operator. This creates a safe environment to operate in oil under extreme circumstances.
Siemens 840D controlThis control can be quoted as an option beyond the Standard Fanuc Series control.
